Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral(BCBA-D)- The BACB will recognise certain Doctoral level BCBAs by permitting use of the credential BCBA-D for those BCBA certificates who have earned a doctorate degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, other human services, education, science, medicine AND have used graduate-level university coursework to qualify for BCBA; or have taught courses in behaviour analysis in a university program with a BACB approved course sequence full-time for atleast 2 years.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)- The Board Certified Behavior Analyst has a Masters Degree or higher and has passed the academic and practicum requirements as laid down by the Board for certification as a BCBA. The BCBA is able to effectively develop and implement intervention methods for use in unfamiliar situations and for a range of cases. The BCBA teaches others to carry out ethical and effective behaviour analytic interventions.

Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)- Bachelor's Degree holders can study and pass the academic and practicum requirements as laid down by the Board for certification as a BCaBA . The BCaBA works under the supervision and of a BCBA and obtains technical direction from a BCBA for unfamiliar situations. The BCaBA is able to teach others to carry out interventions once the BCaBA has demonstrated competency with the procedures. The BCaBA may assist a BCBA with the design and delivery of introductory level instruction in behavior analysis.

To appear for the above certification, the student has to

• Complete study courses in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
• Mentor predetermined number of hours under a BCBA (not a BCaBA)
• Appear for an exam conducted by the Board Analyst Certification Board

The BACB has approved 4 centers in India where tests may be held if there is a minimum group of 10 participants
